 Power Hike Again by KSEB

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will announce further increase in tariff in 2013-14 on Tuesday hiking the electricity charge for domestic users by 12 %and 9 % for industrial uses.

Power tariff in Kerala would go up from Saturday with only limiting the exemption solely for the BPL families drawing 40 units a month.

As per the revised charges fixed by State Electricity regulatory Commission, the average increase for industrial consumers would be 10 per cent.

However, domestic consumers using up to 40 units per month are exempted from this revision and they would continue to pay the existing rate of Rs 1.50 per unit.

Consumers who come back under the block of 51-250 units would have to pay Rs 2.80 per unit, Rs 5 for those under 251-300 and Rs 7.50 for 301 units and above.
