Spread over 1000 acres, this land locked by green Hillocks skirts Kottayam district. The meaning of the word Ilaveezhapoonchira means “a flower pond where leaves do not fall”. Since there is not a single tree in vicinity so there is no scope of leaves falling here hence the name given. Some people are of the view that the place is quite windy hence the leaves are carried away in the wind instead of falling.
Its a small hill station at 3200 feet above sea level and ideal place for trekking. It is easily accessible from Palai in Kottayam district.
